Why I Stock This Record
Malibu is one of those albums that really hit me when it first came out and it hasn’t left my rotation since. Anderson .Paak blends soul, hip-hop, funk and West Coast vibes into something that feels both nostalgic and completely fresh.
The production is warm and rich, the drumming is tight (you can really hear his live band background), and his voice and flow sit perfectly over the grooves. Tracks like “The Bird”, “Am I Wrong" (feat Schoolboy Q), and “Come Down” still get played in my sets regularly.
This reissue sounds excellent and brings back that special moment when Malibu dropped. If you’re into modern soul, West Coast funk or just incredibly well-made music with real heart and groove, this record is essential. Clean copy and plays strong.
