“I genuinely play every track on this album — a real Detroit House masterpiece.”
Why I Stock This Record
This is a Detroit House / Deep House masterpiece from Moodymann. The album features two standout tracks — “Forevernevermore” and especially “Your Sweet Lovin” — but honestly, I genuinely play every single track on this record, whether I’m listening at home or DJing out.
Moodymann’s productions have such a unique soul and depth. Reissues of his work are quite rare, so when this Peacefrog reissue became available I made sure to bring it in.
If you’ve been thinking about adding this album to your collection, now is a great time. It’s a definite must-have for any serious vinyl collector or DJ who appreciates real Detroit House with feeling and groove. Clean copy and plays strong every time.
Review
Moodymann classic Forevernevermore gets a reissue on OG label Peacefrog and it's unquestionably a record that belongs in the collection of any and all fans of KDJ. Originally released back in 2000, the music has lost none of its freshness, brimming with raw funk and Motor City swagger. Blending cavalier sampling and agile instrumentation, the music darts through disco-infused hedonism, spoken-word mantras and blasts of soulful euphoria. Standouts are the timeless 'Don't You Want My Love', the gospel depth of 'The Thief That Stole My Sad Days', and the powerfully evocative title track. Must own, simple as that.
