“The Shit Baby is a proper crowd pleaser — raw Detroit House energy.”
Why I Stock This Record
This is a Detroit House / Deep House classic from Omar S. The standout track for me is “The Shit Baby”, which I regularly play myself because it’s a real crowd pleaser with that raw, infectious energy.
“Air Of The Day” also features in my Selected Records #001 Mixcloud show. The whole EP has that signature Omar S sound — warm, groovy, and full of character. It works brilliantly whether I’m warming up a set or dropping it when I want to get the dancefloor moving.
If you’re into proper Detroit House with groove and soul, this FXHE release is a must-have for vinyl collectors and DJs alike. Clean copy and plays strong every time.

Review
Although Omar S' excellent Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself album was released on CD a few months ago, it's the deluxe vinyl version that the real "Homie's and Tender Roni's" have been waiting for. Only Omar S could get away with spreading all of its 14 tracks across 4 12"s, split into two parts, but for those yet to sample its delights, the album's superb selection of tracks more than justifies the expense; Part 1 features the superb vocal turn from L'Renee on "Rewind", the insanely feelgood house of "The Shit Baby", the experimental dubbiness of "Helter Shelter" and thick set deep house of "Amalthea".
